Donelson is a neighborhood in Nashville that is approximately 6 miles east of downtown along U.S. Route 70. The community received its name from John Donelson who was a co-founder of Nashville and father-in-law of Andrew Jackson, Nashvillian, and seventh President of the United States. Donelson is one of Nashville's oldest communities and residential historic districts. 


The area of Donelson has excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations. There are also many office parks in Donelson which attract many commuters from outside the area.  Donelson Park is home to the Grand Ole Opry House, the Nashville Predators' hockey arena, and numerous other events.
